| Cleaning Out PSP .jbf Files ©NiteOwl0512/NiteOwl'sNest/09-16-05© Please...in appreciation of the time it took me to write and prepare this tutorial...leave my names attached to it as it's author. Feel free to share it with others so that we ALL may learn, but do not claim it as your own creation, nor place it on any web site without my permission. You may NOT place it on a CD that is offered for sale, under any circumstances. This tutorial was written by me and any resemblance to any other tutorials purely coincidental. Thank you:)))! First, let me explain what jbf files are. Jbf files are the files that PSP makes every time you open a folder with the PSP Browser . I had over 2,700 on my computer when I did this the first time. My PSP program would freeze up so I called JASC. I thought the guy at JASC was going to roll out of his chair laughing. Who knew you were supposed to clean those little files out or they would make you freeze up when you got too many....not me;))). This is not done in PSP. It is done on your computer. Left Click on Start and when the menu comes up, click on Search. Click on All Files and Folders Now type .jbf in the window indicated below and click on Search...sit back, relax...it's going to take a while, especially if you haven't done it before. When it finishes, you will see all of the jbf files in the window on the right. As you can see, I had 1,233 files when I did the scan in preparation for this tutorial. Even though the jbf files are small, a lot of them can take up quite a bit of space. You just need to highlight them and delete them. I tried deleting them all at one time, but it was too many, so I just do about 15 at the time...takes a while, but it should free up your PSP program. Don't worry about deleting them. PSP will make another one when you go into a file...which means you need to do this every so often to help your PSP program function better. NiteOwl'sRoost©NiteOwl0512@aol.com/2005-2007 |
